Welcome to Ohio Till Farmstead!

Hi there! I’m Tim Schacht, and along with my amazing wife Michelle and our two sons, Harrison and Henry, we own and operate Ohio Till Farmstead — a first-generation small family farm located just outside of Marysville, Ohio.

Our Story

Ever since I was three years old, I dreamed of being a farmer. As a kid, I was mesmerized by the big, impressive farm equipment our neighbors used and the idea of growing something from the ground up. In middle school, I joined a local 4H club and made some great friends whose families ran working farms. That gave me a real glimpse into the hard work, dedication, and passion it takes to farm, and I loved it.

As I got older, reality set in. With no family land or equipment to inherit, the dream seemed out of reach. I figured maybe farming would just be a retirement hobby someday.

But life has a funny way of nudging you back toward your passion.

I married my beautiful wife Michelle, and together, we’re raising two smart, energetic boys — Harrison and Henry. Somewhere along the way, I realized I couldn’t wait until retirement to chase this dream. Farming is about seasons, and there are only so many of them in a lifetime. I wanted to share this journey with my kids to plant, harvest, work the soil, and be part of something rooted and real.

So, in September 2019, we took the leap. We bought a beautiful old farmhouse built in 1869, with a couple of barns and as much land as we could afford. I promised Michelle I’d turn that old house into her dream home so I could chase mine. Both are still works in progress… but she’s been incredibly patient with me through it all!

Right now, our farm is small but intentionally so. Starting small has allowed us to learn, adapt, and find what works best for us. We’re passionate about organic and regenerative farming and become a Certified Organic farm in 2024. Building healthy soil and caring for the land is at the core of everything we do — for our kids and for the future.

We believe in the local, in the community, and in the value of honest, hard work.

We grow, harvest, process, and package everything right here on our farm. We’re proud to be part of the local food movement and believe that strengthening food systems at the local level is key to a sustainable and secure future.
