The corn is named after its traditional grower, Jimmy Red, who cultivated and preserved the heirloom variety. Known for its rich flavor and high sugar content, it became a favorite of moonshiners for producing whiskey with distinctive taste profiles. Jimmy Red also makes amazing grits and cornmeal.
